Interesting, you're on a Gentoo system but you don't use poatrge? I'm relatively new to Linux but I've been around the different distros My distro of choice that I settled on was Sabayon, based on Gentoo. The thing that always gets me is the blocked or masked packages, which are annoyingly complex to somebody who doesn't know exactly what they're doing.The main reason I'm writing this is because the other day after I did an emerge sync, Sabayon found an update to Portage. Bash was determined to be the blocking program. I had no idea what to do :|But this other package manager.. Paludis, sounds very interesting. I'll have to check it out. Hopefully it works with Sabayon (it's basically gentoo anyway).
